Incomings:
Mikel Merino
Mikel Merino is Arsenal’s priority target for the midfield and Arsenals priority incoming right now. Personal terms have been agreed for a 4 year contract. Merino is excited by the project and wants to join immediately. ArsenalZone understands a verbal fee of around £22m has been agreed and now payment terms are being discussed. Expect to see Merino in Arsenal red very soon.
Nico Williams
Nico Williams is a coveted star in this transfer window after his stellar Euro 2024. Barcelona are leading the chase for him, and Bilbao are trying their best to convince him to stay. Williams has rejected approaches from PSG. Arsenal are yet to make an approach, however ArsenalZone understands they are lurking in the shadows incase a move to Barcelona fails to materialise. Williams is Arteta’s priority winger target.
Leroy Sane
There was much talk of a mystery German joining Arsenal this summer. This player turned out to be Leroy Sane. Unfortunately, ArsenalZone understands the deal was never advanced. Arsenal do hold an interest in the player though, but no discussions have taken place. There is a feeling that if Bayern sign attacking assets a move may be there to be done. This is a deal to watch at the end of the window.
Outgoings:
Nketiah
Olympique Marseille have been hot on the trail of Eddie Nketiah this summer. Nketiah has agreed personal terms with Marseille and wants to join after discussions with De Zerbi. Arsenal initially wanted €35m, but have now dropped the asking price to €30m. Marseille have had three rejected bids and have now made a new one which is short of the €30m being asked for. Negotiations continue with the deal likely to be a loan with obligation. ArsenalZone understands that the gap in valuations is not an amount that is too large to be negotiated. Nketiah’s agent was also in Marseille over the past few days.
Ramsdale
Aaron Ramsdale future at Arsenal looks bleak. The player wants to move on to gain first team football. A number of teams have registered interest in the player including Wolves, Southampton, Newcastle and Forest. ArsenalZone understands the only club to approach the players entourage is Southampton. Ramsdale is interested in a move to Southampton, however Southampton can only afford a loan. Arsenal do not want a loan at this stage. Wolves have made an inquiry during talks for Dan Bentley. Newcastle is also one to watch in the final weeks of the window.
